I know organising family photos can feel like one more thing to think about in an already busy season of life.

This page is here to make things a little easier. Below you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions families ask before their session, so you can spend less time worrying about the details and more time looking forward to creating memories together.

FAQs

  • We usually start my sessions by taking some more traditional family shots, talking to you and your kids to ensure everyone feels comfortable.

    If kids are involved, we usually let them dictate the session. Letting them be themselves and run wild having fun makes them feel at ease. And that’s what it’s about- having fun as family. We like to capture real emotion and help you and your family create organic memories together. While we like to let them do their thing, we will give them (and you) guidance as needed - for example, where to stand or play.

  • We’re based in Launceston, Tasmania, but travel all around Tasmania and even interstate to shoot weddings.

  • We will provide you with advice on what to wear during the day, and can also provide you with wardrobe options for mums and children.

  • We can work together anywhere you’d like - for example, you may have a location that’s special to you and your family. Alternatively, we can work with you to provide some suggestions that suit your family. We’re so lucky here in Tasmania, there are so many beautiful locations around.

  • We recommend booking your session in the evening, during golden hour. That’s usually around 7pm during daylight savings and no earlier than 4pm or 5pm at other times. Alternatively, early mornings are also beautiful. The light makes a huge difference.

  • You’ll receive a link to your online gallery within three weeks of our session together. From there, you can select the images you’d like to include in your package from the session (and you can purchase additionals if you love them all!) You can also print images directly from the gallery via Pic-Time.

  • Contact us to get in touch and we’ll work together to book in a date.

  • A $100 deposit is required to secure your date and booking.

  • Rest assured, you’re in good hands with us. Tegan has kids of her own, and she loves working with them - chaos and all. Parents often stress or worry about how their kids will behave during the sessions, but we think this is where the magic is made...in the chaos.

  • We have a small studio based in Launceston. The studio is great as a backup plan or for those wanting the more traditional family portraits and newborn session.

  • At risk of missing out, we recommend booking at least eight weeks in advance - especially during the warmer months, where it’s wedding season!

  • There are few things we can control in life - and the weather certainly isn’t one of them. If it rains and your location is outdoors, we’ll reschedule your session, stress and fee free.

  • Yes, please! We love pets, and they’re truly part of the family.

  • We love travelling and seeing our beautiful state! We’re based in Launceston but often travel to Hobart and beyond. Travel costs will apply for locations more than 20km from Launceston.

  • We’re happy to work with you to arrange a suitable payment plan. Get in touch to discuss options!
